We love curries, authentic curries, and so decided to try Royal Punjab for the first time when our son and his wife came to visit. One of us is vegetarian, and the menu had a wonderful list of offerings!
We started with the samosa chat, which you don't always find on menus - they were really well seasoned, topped with fresh chutney and mint - amazing! Be warned, the serving is large - more than enough for two to three people to share.
(The rice portions are also generous.)
We had lamb vindaloo, and lamb korma - both tender and excellently spiced. One member of our group (who eat curries regularly and from many restaurants in Calgary) said the vindaloo was one of the best he's ever had. The selection of paneer dishes was also extensive. The mixed vegetables were cooked to perfection, not overcooked or underdone.
The service was excellent, and the server made sure we understood the spice levels and portions. This may have been our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last. It's all about the food!!!

Kamal is an amazing and welcoming server. Best dishes we’ve ever had . Many recommend by her. Our new favourite restaurant.

My absolute favorite butter chicken and naan in town. Great food, quick order fulfillment, and leaves me craving it again. Only issue is the chicken chunks are too big, if they were cut smaller this would be a home run!

We were immediately seated by our very friendly server and served in very short order. Our order was filled very quickly and everything was fresh, authentic and delicious. I have dined at numerous Indian cuisine restaurants over the years, and this is my new favourite. We had a cross section of appetizers, mains and a dessert. Everything exceeded out expectation. We will be back again, and again, and again...If you like South Asian cuisine, you'll like what the Royal Punjab restaurant has to offer. Go get some!
